EyeSafe is a program that facilitates prescription safety eyewear for participating organizations which require it for their staff. Eyesafe is administrated by the BC Association of Optometrists and there is no membership fee to pay. This program is made possible with the participation of member doctors practicing in clinics all across BC, and you.

Whether you are a manager, supervisor or coordinator, you are also a safety advocate especially when it comes to eye safety since 90% of eye injuries are preventable. Safety eye wear is an essential piece of personal protective equipment, but all too often workers wear the wrong kind or, even worse, don’t
wear it at all.

  • Design Your Own Program

    EyeSafe will help you create and customize a criteria sheet. In consultation with EyeSafe, you determine a level of contribution that meets your company’s budget and safety requirements.

  • Create Your Company Profile

    EyeSafe will take your information and create your company’s profile in the online web portal. You will log in with your unique code to create job tickets, authorize specific needs and track a job’s progress through the stages of production.

  • Visit an Eyeafe Approved Optometry Office

    An EyeSafe Optometrist and their staff will help the employee choose the appropriate prescription safety glasses according to the criteria sheet set by the company. We offer your employees a “one-stop-shop” from eye examinations to dispensing, and we ensure the eyewear fits properly and comfortably.

  • Receive Approved Safety Eyewear

    When the safety glasses are ready, the employee will get a call to have them return to the Optometrist’s office for a full spectacle frame fitting and make any adjustments to ensure that the fit is right.

  • Invoice to Companies

    You receive annual utilization reports and monthly billing statements, providing an accurate, itemized record of use and costs so you can assess how the program is working for your company. EyeSafe saves your company time and resources. We take care of all the administration and paperwork on your behalf.

Step 1

Meet the Team

Arrange a meeting with the EyeSafe team. We will inform you on National/Provincial safety standards and advise you regarding appropriate safety eyewear for your employees and working environment.

Step 2

Design Program

EyeSafe will work with you to determine what safety eyewear features and contribution levels employees could have based on your company policies of occupation, health, safety and budget.

Step 3

Review & Sign

Once you have reviewed and agreed the company criteria sheet and signed the Eyesafe agreement you have taken the first step in making your work place a safer envirionment.
